Come join us for California's only annual statewide conference devoted to children and families in the juvenile court system. The conference addresses issues of juvenile justice, child welfare, mental health, substance abuse, education, community engagement and much more.
Beyond the Bench is an annual nationally acclaimed, multidisciplinary conference that brings together over 1100 juvenile dependency and delinquency professionals from around the state. Judicial officers, attorneys, court administrators, social workers, CASAs, probation officers, educators, mental health professionals and others come together to learn about the latest research and best practices with regard to improving juvenile justice and child abuse and neglect proceedings. This year we are especially excited to offer a Fred Friendly Seminar and a one woman play. The Fred Friendly Seminar will focus on 40 years after In re Gault, a United States Supreme Court case that expanded the rights of juveniles in delinquency cases. The play, Someone's Somebody, presents the struggle and triumph of life as a foster child.
