In today's changing environment, nonprofit boards and chief executives everywhere are in search of consultants who can help nonprofits govern themselves with excellence and successfully advance on mission. This comprehensive, two-day course is designed to help consultants and advisors working with nonprofits to utilize a process to evaluate the effectiveness of their boards and chief executives.
Participants will
* learn skills to lead nonprofit boards through board assessments and chief executive assessments
* receive insights and materials developed by BoardSource during its years of experience with thousands of nonprofit board members
* network with peers
Program Overview
Through the board and chief executive assessment processes, trained consultants can help boards take a serious look at their own effectiveness, as well as at the effectiveness of the chief executive. By utilizing a variety of ideas gleaned from this course, consultants will be able to help boards identify the areas in which they need help and begin an oft-needed dialogue with and among board members. By determining steps to address the challenges identified in a board assessment, consultants can help boards implement changes needed to strengthen performance. Consultants can help boards and chief executives foster a constructive partnership by clarifying expectations and setting goals.
