ED 101 offers an executive-level curriculum of management practices to give newly promoted executive directors the skills to deal with key challenges that face nonprofits. This 3-day program provides instruction and skills-building exercises led by leading experts. Seminar topics will include:
* Leadership and Management - Balancing and understanding the leadership and management needs of a nonprofit
* Financial Management & Accountability - Financial planning; accounting; internal controls; budgeting and IRS requirements
* Boards, Governance & Strategic Planning - The role and responsibilities of the board; recruiting and orienting new members and managing the relationship with the board; overview of strategic planning processes and models
* Fundraising - Fundraising strategies, tools and planning; donor management
* Human Resources - Employee recruitment, hiring and performance; evaluation systems; employment law issues and setting compensation and benefits
This workshop is presented in partnership with The CBO Center.
