Learn the challenging arts of trial advocacy and persuasion in this unique, hands-on program. Using NITA’s learning-by-doing method, participants in Building Trial Skills engage in a simulation of necessary courtroom skills, observe trial demonstrations, and hear lectures on advocacy from NITA's experienced faculty of trial lawyers, judges, advocacy teachers, and communications experts.
Participants learn to perform better direct and cross-examinations, lay foundations, deliver opening statements and closing arguments, learn the right way to impeach, and perform voir dire. All exercises are followed by faculty feedback and critique of both live and video taped performances. In addition, all program participants will gain an invaluable “real world” understanding of jury psychology through the execution of a full jury trial, after which you will get to watch the jury deliberate via closed circuit TV, and then hear the jurors' critique.
Whether you are a recent graduate or a seasoned professional, Building Trial Skills will change the way you approach trials, improving your performance exponentially.
