Please join us on Tuesday, July 29 from 10 a.m.-12 p.m. PST to hear how leading policymakers, advocates, foundations, and service providers are using the California Family Economic Self-Sufficiency Standard to help Californians make ends meet. The Self-Sufficiency Standard measures the costs of housing, food, child care, health care, transportation, taxes, and other basic needs for working families in every county of California. The 2008 Self-Sufficiency Standard provides important information about the increasing costs facing Californians today and is a powerful tool in setting policies and programs that strengthen our families, communities, and state.

You Will Learn:

? How much it costs to make ends meet in your county
? How the numbers are calculated
? New ideas about how to use this tool in policymaking, grant making, direct service, research, and advocacy

Speakers include: Los Angeles City Councilmember Richard Alarcón and
Gregory R. Kepferle, CEO, Catholic Charities of Santa Clara County.
