During this webinar, you will learn about filing a petition for review, communicating with the court, filing and responding to motions, preparing briefs, post-decision matters and trouble shooting common problems in immigration petitions for review. Instructors: Dan Torres, ILRC Staff Attorney and former Motions Staff Attorney at the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals Dan graduated from the UC Davis School of Law in 2002. He was a staff attorney for the California Rural Legal Assistance Foundation, where he represented clients in a variety of naturalization and immigration matters. He was also a supervising attorney at the UC Davis School of Law's Immigration Clinic representing clients in removal and detention proceedings. From 2005 to 2008, Dan was a motions staff attorney at the US Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. He is currently a staff attorney with the ILRC. Nasha Vida, Research Staff Attorney, Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals Nasha graduated from UC Hastings in 2003 and was awarded the Ralph S. Abascal Fellowship. Through the fellowship, she worked at the ILRC, where she provided legal education and outreach to Central Valley communities on the immigration provisions of the VAWA. Upon completing the fellowship in 2004, she was hired as a research attorney for the Ninth Circuit. She currently researches asylum law issues for the court.
