In Fall 2009, the Social Security Administration settled a class action lawsuit, Martinez v. Astrue, that ended SSA's longstanding misapplication of the "fleeing felon" bar on Social Security and SSI benefits receipt.
Join Gerald McIntyre and Anna Rich of the National Senior Citizens Law Center and Plaintiff's Counsel in Martinez v. Astrue, for a presentation about SSA's recently revised "fleeing felon" policy and the advocacy needed to secure monetary relief for the thousands of eligible Martinez class members in the Bay Area. There will also be a discussion of probation and parole warrants and possible relief under Clark v. Astrue.
There will be an opportunity for questions and discussion. We will also be unveiling advocacy and outreach strategies that have not been addressed in earlier Bay Area trainings.
Please RSVP as soon as possible! (This event will not be available via webinar or telephone. It is open to attorneys, advocates and service providers.)
