The second workshop in a series put on by the Foster & Kinship Care Education Program at Woodland Community College, "School Issues and Advocacy", presented by Cheryl Theis of Disability Rights Education & Defense Fund (DREFD), will dive into some of the challenges that our students and families face during their school experience and problem solve real-world situations in order to discover tools, techniques and strategies to help make a child's education experience more successful and less stressful for all. During this workshop we will thoroughly examine the importance of an Individual Education Plan (IEP)," and share resources for attaining Special Education and Related Services for children with special needs.
