This one-hour online session will cover the federal tax rules regarding electoral activities for 501(c)(3) legal services organizations -- including how to help your clients register to vote, how to advocate for your issues during an election season, how to ensure the partisan activities of your employees and volunteers are not attributed to the organization, as well as how to distribute candidate questionnaires or host candidate forums. We will also address the restrictions on election activities applicable to organizations that receive funding from the Legal Services Corporation. Please note that Public Interest Clearinghouse will be offering MCLE credit for participation in this workshop.
