This one-hour online session will explain the federal laws governing lobbying by 501(c)(3) legal services organizations, as well as how these organizations can maximize their capacity to lobby for policy change by measuring their lobbying using the 501(h) expenditure test. The workshop will also cover the definitions for direct and grassroots lobbying, exemptions to the definition of lobbying and the application of these rules to the ballot measure activities. We will also address the restrictions on lobbying activities applicable to organizations that receive funding from the Legal Services Corporation. Please note that Public Interest Clearinghouse will be providing MCLE credit for attending this workshop.
