Foreclosures today are increasing dramatically for both low-income and middle-income families, and there is no sign that the upward trend has reached its peak. This program is designed to provide a general overview of the mortgage market and how to deal with foreclosures. In some cases, a workout might be an appropriate solution for the homeowner. In other cases, a more vigorous defense of the homeowner is necessary. A procedural defense will likely buy the homeowner additional time, but a substantive defense may reduce the homeowner's liability on the mortgage debt.
