Presenter: Tony Chicotel, CANHR

The two greatest themes in an elder law practice are protecting elders against abuse and neglect and guarding their independence. These two themes are often in tension, perhaps never more so than in conservatorship cases. This training will explore California conservatorships, stressing the differences between LPS and probate conservatorships, and what they mean for our clients. We will first investigate the process by which conservatorships are obtained and then review the powers that different conservators may exercise.
