Bet Tzedek raises $2.7 million at 19th Annual Dinner Gala

Bet Tzedek-The House of Justice honored longtime board member Marc H. Gamsin, The Milken Family Foundation, and staff member Spencer Lord at its 19th Annual Dinner Gala on January 31, 2007.
Gamsin, executive vice president of AIG Retirement Services, was recognized for his commitment to the organization during his tenure as a board member. Vigorous supporters for nearly 20 years, The Milken Family Foundation was instrumental in the creation of Valley Bet Tzedek. Lord received the inaugural Jack H. Skirball Community Justice Award for his 18 years of service.
The Dinner Gala, the organization's most significant annual event, raised more than $2.7 million for Bet Tzedek.
About Marc Gamsin
Marc Gamsin is the Executive Vice President and a member of the Board of Directors of AIG Retirement Services, the retirement savings arm of American International Group. As the President of SunAmerica Alternative Investments, a subsidiary of AIGRS, Marc oversees over $7 billion of investments in a variety of private equity, leveraged buyout, distressed debt, venture capital and real estate funds, as well as hedge funds and direct private equity investments. He is also responsible for the affordable housing business and legal affairs of AIGRS. Before joining SunAmerica in 1996, Marc was a partner at the Los Angeles-based law firm of O'Melveny & Myers.
Marc is a long-time member of the board of directors of Bet Tzedek - The House of Justice, where he serves on its Executive Committee and Development Committee. He has been a Chair of Bet Tzedek's annual fundraising dinners and, in 2000, was an honoree at the Neighborhood Youth Association's annual Investors in Education dinner. Marc is also a trustee of the Brentwood School in Los Angeles and a member of the investment committee of the J. Paul Getty Trust.
Marc received a BA degree in Political Science from Queens College and a JD degree from New York University School of Law. He and his wife, Susan, and their two children, Elizabeth and Matthew, live in Brentwood.
