Historic Agreement Regarding Diabetes Care in California Public Schools
On August 8, 2007, the California Department of Education (CDE) and the American Diabetes Association (ADA) announced a comprehensive and unprecedented settlement of litigation filed as a class action in 2005 by Disability Rights Education and Defense Fund, Inc. (DREDF) and the law firm of Reed Smith LLP.
This settlement ensures that students with diabetes will be safe at school and have the same educational opportunities as their peers.
More information about the Settlement and documents containing critical information for families of children with diabetes are posted on the DREDF website at http://www.dredf.org/healthcare/diabetes.shtml.
