SSA plans to revise controversial appeals rights regulation

The House of Representatives has announced that the rulemaking process with respect to certain provisions in the controversial proposed regulation to restrict appeal rights for Social Security and SSI disability claimants has been suspended.

There will be further details on SSA's next steps, including which parts of the regulation they intend to pursue and which will be changed (and how). News of any proposed changes to the appeals process protects claimants' right to a fair, thorough, and accessible adjudicative process will be released when known.
