Scholarship Information and New Fee Waiver Guidelines

The State Bar of California is pleased to announce that a limited number of scholarships are available to cover registration fees for individuals interested in attending the Pathways to Justice - Delivering Social Justice conference, June 5-7, 2008 at the Marriott Hotel, Downtown Los Angeles.
Scholarships will cover a $295 conference registration fee for individual participants. Scholarship applicants will be required to submit an application by Friday, April 25, 2008.
Eligibility for scholarship awards are based on one or more of the following
criteria:
. Applicant must be staff from a main or branch office of a "qualified
legal services provider" (grantee of the Legal Services Trust Fund Program, also referred to as an IOLTA-funded program) located in a rural area
. Applicant must be staff from a main or branch office of a "qualified
legal services provider" with qualified expenditures of $400,000 or less per office.
. Applicant must be staff from a non-IOLTA funded entity providing
legal assistance to low- or moderate-income individuals such as a court-based program, lawyer referral service, public interest law project, or other access to justice partner located in a rural area (see counties
above)
. Applicant must be staff or a board member from any IOLTA or
non-IOLTA funded program with compelling extenuating financial circumstances
. Priority will be given to individuals from entities that did not
send an attendee to the 2005 Pathways to Justice Conference held in San Francisco.
