Fact Sheets Outline Local Impact of Proposed Budget Cuts

New analyses from the California Budget Project (CBP) outline the local impact of selected spending reductions included in the May Revision of the Governor's Proposed 2008-09 Budget. The analyses identify:

The number of parents who would lose Medi-Cal eligibility, primarily due to lowering the maximum income level for eligibility, by legislative district;
The number of low-income seniors and people with disabilities who would receive fewer hours of services through the In-Home Supportive Services (IHSS) Program, by county;
The reduction in wages for IHSS workers who provide services to seniors and people with disabilities, by county;
The number of seniors and people with disabilities who would lose nearly $400 million in SSI/SSP cash assistance payments, by county; and
The number of children who would lose CalWORKs cash assistance payments, by county.
