At the most recent Judicial Council meeting, the State Justice Institute presented the California Courts with the Howell Heflin Award for the development of the Self Represented Litigant Bench Guide. The Heflin Award is presented annually to an SJI-supported project that has the potential to significantly improve the administration of justice in state courts nationwide.
