The Legal Aid Association of California recently held an election for its Board of Directors for 2009. Here are the results:
Elections Results:
The following candidates were elected to the Board by LAAC member organizations.
- Sharon Bashan, Pro Bono Project of Silicon Valley (new member, first term)
- Diego Cartegena, Alliance for Children's Rights (new member, first term)
- Jenny Chung, Insight Center for Community Economic Development (new member, first term)
- Michelle Ewert, Central California Legal Services (new member, first term)
- Paul Freese, Public Counsel (incumbent, second term)
- Cassie Pierson, Legal Services for Prisoners with Children (incumbent, second term)
Discretionary Appointments:
The Board of Directors all appointed two additional Board Members to the LAAC Board:
- Nancy Bigelow, Inland Counties Legal Services (returning to the Board for her second term)
- Valerie Feldman, Legal Services of Northern California (this will be her first term)
The Legal Aid Association of California would like to congratulate the new and returning Board members. We are very excited to have these new members of the LAAC team and retaining three very valuable Board members for 2009.
