The Governor's Proposed Budget Would Eliminate IHSS Services for 81,000 Low-Income Seniors and People With Disabilities

A new CBP analysis examines the impact of the Governor's proposed cuts to the IHSS Program, which provides in-home services to low-income seniors and people with disabilities to prevent costly out-of-home care. The analysis finds that the Governor's 2009-10 Budget Proposal would reduce program funding by $257.6 million and affect 81,000 vulnerable Californians.

The analysis includes a county-by-county breakdown of the cuts and the number of people affected.
