A new CBP analysis examines the impact of the Governor's proposed cuts to the state's public schools, which serve 5.9 million students. The Governor's proposal to close the 2008-09 and 2009-10 budget gaps would cut school funding by $5.2 billion -- a reduction of $875 per student. This analysis examines the local impact of $4.4 billion (85.8 percent) of the proposed cuts, and includes estimates of the impact of the cuts by county.
