In this issue:
The U.S. Department on Housing and Urban Development (HUD) issued the Notice of Allocations, Application Procedures and Requirements for Homelessness Prevention and Rapid Re-Housing Program (HPRP) Grantees Under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009; the Guidance regarding the Emergency Shelter Grants program. Legal Services is an eligible activity under the program.
Excerpted from page 17 of the Notice:
Legal Services. HPRP funds may be used for legal services to help people stay in their homes, such as services or activities provided by a lawyer or other person(s) under the supervision of a lawyer to assist program participants with legal advice and representation in administrative or court proceedings related to tenant/landlord matters or housing issues. Legal services related to mortgages are not eligible.
Many thanks to our allies who worked tirelessly to make this happen.
