More Californians Are Working Later in Life

A new CBP analysis finds that employment for Californians in their late 50s and 60s has increased for more than a decade. Even during the current economic downturn, the share of individuals working at or near retirement age continued to rise. Increased employment rates for older Californians reflect a number of factors, including improved health and longer life expectancy as well as the inability to afford retirement.
