LAAC Announces 2005 Dan Bradley Fellowship Recipients

LAAC is thrilled to announce the 2005 recipients of the Dan Bradley Fellowships, which provide summer funding to allow law students to work during the summer at LAAC Member Programs.

This year, LAAC was able to award SIX Fellowships, presented to the following students:

  • Lourdes Barrera, a 1L at Loyola Law School, will be working at the Los Angeles Center for Law & Justice. She will beworking on housing and consumer issues.
  • Pilar Nicole Camarillo, a 1L at Boalt, will be working at California Rural Legal Assistance (CRLA). She will be creating an anti-retaliation protocal for farmworks.
  • Brian O'Toole, a 1L at Hastings, will be working at Bay Area Legal Aid. He will participate in a project aimed at ensuring low-income individual's ability to access prescription drugs by examining access under the current co-payment policies.
  • Angelica Nohemi Quinonez, a 1L at Golden Gate University will be working at the Child Care Law Center. She plansto undertake a major policy project, the focus of which depends on upcoming legislative & administrative development.

  • Katharine Ruhl, a 1L at UC Davis will be working at the UC Davis Immigration Clinics. She will be working with immigrants who are detained or face deportation, as well as working on impact litigation, and conducting outreach education in California Detention Centers.

  • Yohandra Ugarte, a 1L at Hastings, will be working at the Harriet Buhai Center for Family Law. She will be working on family law issues for low-income residents of Los Angeles.
